Lydia was the 8th child of Edmund Fitzgerald (1769 - 1827) and Sarah "Sally" Dodson (1773 - 1827). Edmund and Sally had 15 children: Maston, Samuel, Jackson, Frances, Deborough, Unity, Ludis, Lydia, Margaret, David, Edmond, James, Nancy, Leacy, John
