Gary W. Morcom, 62, of Greenfield Twp., died Friday at Regional Hospital of Scranton after a fighting a courageous three-year battle with mutimyloma cancer.

Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late James and Jane Haken Morcom. He was a graduate of Lakeland High School and a Marine Corps veteran. He was employed by General Dynamics as a machinist before retiring. He was a member of Local 1193 UAW at General Dynamics. He was a member of Bushwackers Hunting Club.

He was an avid hunter and sportsman who enjoyed hunting in Susquehanna County with his son, Gary, and his girlfriend, Mary Kuney. Gary also enjoyed spending time and dining with close friends.

A special thank you is given to cousin, Sharon Grasso and husband, Fred, and daughter, Christina, for their love and support.

He is survived by a son, Gary Morcom, Mayfield; two brothers, Donald, Stevensville, Mont.; and Wayne, Manton, Calif.; nephews and nieces, James Morcom, Amy Morcom, Jesse Miles, Derek Morcom, Genon Morcom, Jason Morcom and Wyatt Morcom; and a cousin, Michelle and husband, Patrick Rosemellia.
