Obituary for Mrs. Sally Louise Taylor
Sally Louise Taylor was the youngest of four children born to the late
Thomas and Jennie Conner on September 10, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois.
Sally found Christ at an early age and joined Ebenezer Baptist
Church. She later joined St. Paul Christian Methodist Episcopal Church
in Chicago.
Sally graduated from Phillips High School in Chicago. She also
attended Kennedy King College, where she earned a degree Early
Education and was employed at the Institute for Contemporary Education
as a teacher for many years until she retired.
Sally was united in Holy Matrimony to D.L. Taylor and to this union
two children were born, Valerie and Gerald Taylor. Sally later was united
with Albert Collins until his death on September 14, 1987.
Sally had a very active social life. She loved to sew, attending family
reunions, and going on trips with her social club.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Jennie
Conner; stepmother, Leona Conner "Nana", sister, Lillie Kennedy; and
three brothers: James, Oscar, and Thomas Conner.
Cherishing her memory and sadly missing her presence are:
her daughter,Valerie (Simon) Merriweather; son, Gerald (Amanda)
Taylor; grandchildren, Kevin (Toni) Calmese, Regina(Tyrone) Palmer,
Christopher, Juanita, and Gerald Taylor Jr.; 22 great grandchildren;
and her favorite nieces, Gloria (Boots) Tillis, Yolanda (Leon) Swanson,
Renee (Zada) Primous, nephew, Aaron (Tonya) Tillis; and a host of nieces,
nephews, relatives, and friends.
