Merlin was born in Layton, Utah in 1926, to Lewis H. and S. Louise (Palmer) Adams. He was the oldest of their seven children and attended schools in Davis County, Utah. He graduated from Davis High School in 1944.
That same year, Merlin married his high-school sweetheart, the former Rayone Edmonds in the Salt Lake Temple. Merlin and Rayone celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary in June.
1944 was a year full of eventful changes as Merlin also entered the Army Air Corps that year and served in the Pacific theater of operations and, later, in Alaska. He was a very proud WWII veteran.
Merlin retired from Cordon Co. as an inspector and parts department manager.
Merlin loved the outdoors. He enjoyed observing wildlife while camping, especially at the Sourdough Wilderness Ranch with his family. He also loved being a Scout Master.
Left to cherish his memory are Merlin's sweetheart, Rayone; their children, Tracy M. (Annette) Adams, Dwight L. (Rachelle) Adams, Nina Rae (Glenn) Hiatt, and Wesley D. (Rebecca) Adams; twenty-two grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; and Merlin's brother, Kent Adams, along with many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Merlin was also predeceased by his son, Leslie E. Adams, two sisters and three brothers.
Merlin's family expresses their gratitude to the William E. Christofferson Hall of Heroes for their loving care and compassion given him.
Friends may call on Merlin's family from 10:45 to 11:45 A.M., on Monday, 25 November 2019, at the Russon Brothers' Bountiful Mortuary, Main Street, where Funeral services will convene at 12 Noon, followed by Interment in the Kaysville City Cemetery with full military rites.
