Removed with his parents to Pompey NY, thence to Conewango NY and finally to Waupun WI. He taught school ten winters and each of his sons taught from eight to ten winters. He held more town offices than any other citizens of Waupun in his time. He was town clerk, trustee and Deacon in the free baptist church in Waupun. He was a surveyor for more than 35 yearsand couty surveyor for 6 years. He manifested great interest in genealogy and expended time and funds in collecting family records in his line.
