Obituary for Betty Jane DePaula
On Friday, April 19th the Lord called home my best friend, my confidant, my mother.

Betty Jane DePaula was born Betty Jane Neel on January 14th, 1929 in San Jacinto California. She was the youngest of five children. She was a long time resident of Bloomington California and moved to Apple Valley California in 2004 to be closer to family.

She is survived by her three children, Jane Lagosh, Steve McBurney, and John McBurney. Grandchildren Steven, Daniel, and Krystal Lagosh, Ben and Logan McBurney, and Carrie Lagomarsino and Carla Jo Duke and multiple Great grandchildren as well as her devoted sister, Eva Moreland, and loving nieces and nephews.

A great love and appreciation for nature and the beauty that surrounds us, Betty enjoyed camping and traveling. She was a passionate homemaker and took great pride in making sure our home was welcoming. She also found great joy in gardening and raising flowers. She was definitely an animal lover too.

Betty was a compassionate loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was always there to lend a hand or support any and all of us. She especially enjoyed being involved with her grandchildren's sports, scouts, school and marching band. Which provided great enjoyment and exciting travel opportunities.

At 90 years old she continued adventuring into nature with long rides through Summit Valley, a visit to Joshua Tree, and the Lancaster Poppy fields to soak in the beauty of the abundant wild flower bloom. She loved going out to dinner and the companionship and conversation that was included.

Last November she was able to attend her grandson's wedding in Lake Tahoe where she reconnected with family and friends, some of which she had not seen for years. This brought her great joy and I am thankful for that.

She appreciated kindnesses that were offered from strangers, holding a door open, sharing a smile, or polite conversation. She took nothing for granted.

We are saying our final goodbyes today. No words can express my feeling of loss, but I know that she is with our Lord and wrapped in his unfailing love.

Viewing will be held tonight, Friday April 26 from 6:00 p.mm. to 8:00 p.m. at the Sunset Hills Mortuary, 24000 Waalew Rd. in Apple Valley.
Graveside will be held Saturday April 27 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Hills Memorial Park,

Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in
heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My
burden is light
