Wilma Lambert
DECEMBER 16, 1926 – NOVEMBER 22, 2019

Wilma Mae Lambert, 92, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully on November 22, 2019. Wilma was the youngest of nine children born to John and Julia Hansard on December 16, 1926 in Blountsville, Alabama.

On March 15, 1944 she married the love of her life, Earl Leaman Lambert and they eventually made their home in Houston where they raised their four children together. Wilma enjoyed sewing and piecing quilts by hand and made the best yeast rolls, biscuits and plum preserves in the south. She was incredibly proud of her husband, children and grandchildren and she loved each of them unconditionally. Her grandchildren have countless, precious memories of cooking homemade biscuits and cornbread, hanging fresh clothes out to dry, sitting on the front porch swing shelling peas, or listening to an Astros game with Grandma. A simple grocery shopping trip to Sellers always included showing off the grandchildren to her many friends they passed along the way. She was a safe, soft place to fall in a world that was often painful and confusing for them. She (grandma) had an infectious laugh and sassy sense of humor, and she was a great source of comfort to her family. She will be dearly missed.

Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband and grandson Christopher Lee Lambert. She is survived by her children Dorothy Wilma Silva, James Earl Lambert, Robert Wayne Lambert and Mary Sue Nourse, grandchildren Rebecca White, Joetta Hesse, Johnny Silva, Thomas Silva, Marlo Lambert, Kim Lindemann, Debra Williams, Andrew Lambert, Shawn Lambert and Robert Lambert, Jr. as well as numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Forest Park Lawndale in The Garden of Angels at 3:00pm on Wednesday, November 27, 2019.
