William Roy Carver, 91 of Athens, TN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 22, 2019.

He was a son of the late Roy and Elza Carver.

Preceded in death by his wife, Doris Carver; sister, Mary Webb.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Bill Clark, Pat and George Carpenter; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Laura Carver; granddaughters and husband, Aimee and Steven Mullins of Morristown, Anne Carpenter of Nashville.

He was a devout Christian and a member of Double Spring Baptist Church. He was a volunteer fireman for the Claxton Fire Department; he enjoyed deer hunting with his good friend Tommy Sorrells.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Double Springs Cemetery with Byron Talbot officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 29th in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Claxton Fire Department, P.O. Box 1024, Athens, TN 37371.
