Robert "Rob" Scott Raines Robert "Rob" Scott Raines entered the world on August 2, 1965, in Everett, WA, via the efforts of Fred and Dorothy Raines. Rob sought a life filled with adventure. Growing up, he enjoyed the woods, trails and the natural world. Having a flair for the dramatic, Rob made the newspaper as a child by making Bigfoot prints in the woods near his family's home. He drove fast cars and hiked the trails in East Snohomish County with his friends. Rob adored The Doors music, wine, cooking and his 1964-1/2 convertible Mustang named "Marlo". Rob met the love of his life in 1993. He and Mary strove to live an unconventional life. The early highlights of life together included remodeling two houses, then building their dream house together in rural Snohomish, WA. Rob worked for Boeing as a designer and engineer for most of his adult life. It took them ten years to tie the knot, but did so finally at a medieval-themed wedding. Rob loved adventure vacations – he SCUBA-dived in Cozumel, Honduras, Hawaii and the Bahamas. He and his wife, Mary, vacationed as often as they could possibly afford, traveling to Honduras, Hawaii, various Mexican destinations, Europe, and Australia, as well as numerous domestic locations, with California wine country being a favorite. In fact, if something involved wine, Rob was in. One of his highlights was recreating the wine tastings occurring in the movie "Sideways". He and Mary cruised five times on music-themed cruises, and the "Sail Across The Sun" cruise had become an annual tradition. They enjoyed concerts together, especially those at the winery. Rob made numerous friends while working at Boeing and everywhere he went. He will be missed most especially by his wife and companion, Mary Albert-Raines; as well as his adoring mother, Dorothy "Pat" Raines; his brothers and best buddies, David Raines and Steve Raines; his dog "Kia"; and his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, who thought the world of him. His father, Fred Raines, and his sister, Becky Raines, preceded Rob in their journeys to the next life. His extended family and numerous friends and coworkers will certainly miss his humor and outgoing friendliness.
