"Pepper" received his nickname due to the amount of pepper he would put on his Lutefisk (a type of fish from the coast of Sweden) during Christmas time. He was an extremely business savvy man. And at a time when most children did not go to college. He and all 4 of his brothers and sister attended college and received their degrees.
