The son of David Dunlap and Ruth Lindsey.

Ronald Lewis Dunlap “Candyman” was born May 3rd, 1952 and departed this life on November 20th, 2019.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, David and Ruth Lindsay Dunlap, and brothers, Cleveland and David Jr.

Ronald was educated in the Anson County School system. Ronald was also an extraordinary athlete. He ran track, wrestled and played football at Bowman Senior High School. Ronald also played semi-pro football in Albemarle with the Stanly Patriots.

Ronald joined Rocky Mount AME Zion Church at an early age, where he held various leadership positions at a later age.

Ronald was a member of Cedar Grove Lodge #242 PHA NC Jurisdiction of Free and Accepted Masons.

Ronald was an avid motorcycle lover. He was a member of the Carolina Motorcycle Riders of Rockingham and also the Dragon Riders of Ansonville.

He leaves to cherish his memories his fiancé, Myra McLendon of Ansonville, NC, a stepson, Mantley Gaddy of Marshville, NC. Siblings, Joseph Dunlap and Vincent Dunlap of Ansonville, NC, Althea Brigham of Albemarle, NC, Yvonne T. Dunlap of Ansonville, NC, Bernadette D. Smith (Walter) of Oahu, Hawaii, Kelvin Dunlap (Sharon) of Charlotte, NC and Mary Clark (Lenart) of Fort Washington, Maryland.

One Aunt, Evelyn Lindsay of Baltimore, Maryland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, Nathaniel Lindsey and Nathaniel Davis who were good friends but treated each other like brothers.

The Homegoing Services were held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, 12:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina.

Burial followed in the family plot of the Rocky Mount AME Zion Church Cemetery, Ansonville, North Carolina.
