Russell Copeland Bailey, Sr., 95 of Dover, went to be with his heavenly Father on October 22, 2019.
Born on January 16, 1924. He was the son of the late Wesley J. Bailey, Sr. and Bernice Legg Bailey.
Russell owned and operator of Bailey’s Termite and Pest Control in Clayton, DE for many years.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Edna Boyles Bailey and their youngest daughter, Margaret Chambers Deputy, his second wife, Violet Marshall Bailey and their infant son, Robert Brian and their oldest daughter, Kathy Bailey. He was also predeceased by his brother, Ralph Willis Bailey and his wife, Maryetta Morris Bailey, and another brother, Willis Legg Bailey and his wife, Doris Wooten Bailey.
Russell is survived by his daughters, Ruth Iverson Weiner (Steve), Edna Truax (Rusty), Deborah Summers Bailey, Jeanette Allen and two sons, Russell C. Bailey, Jr. and Steven Wayne Bailey and friend, Joann Bachtell. He is also survived by a very special friend, Marian Sheldon. In addition, he is survived by 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Harold Bailey (Mary Louise) and Wesley Bailey, Jr. (Diane), a sister-in-law, Arlene Bailey, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 26th at 11 am, friends may call from 10-11 am at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown. Interment will follow in Townsend Cemetery.
