Mr. William Edward "Bill" Jenner, age 77, of downtown Madison, Indiana, entered this life on February 8, 1942, in Bedford, Indiana, the beloved son of the late U.S. Senator William Ezra Jenner and Janet Patterson Cuthill Jenner. During his father’s tenure in the United States Senate, the family divided their time between Indiana and Washington D.C., where the young Bill Jenner received his early education, but the Jenner family always called Indiana their home. He graduated at the Indiana University Law School in 1966, later serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Cale J. Holder, Judge of the United States District Court, Southern District of Indiana. In 1968, Mr. Bill Jenner established a long-time law practice in Madison, Indiana, arguing cases in both state and federal courts, as well as distinguishing service as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Attorney for the City of Madison, and Attorney for Madison Consolidated School Corporation. He was united in marriage to his beloved Anne in Madison, Indiana, sharing over forty wonderful years together. In addition to his devotion to his wife and sons, Mr. Bill Jenner volunteered his time to several community causes including the Western Fire Company No. 3, serving on the board of the Jefferson County Red Cross, the Cale J. Holder Memorial Scholarship Committee for the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, and was a member of the President’s Advisory Council for the Indiana Historical Society. He also was a member of the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion, the Madison Elks Lodge No. 524, the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, the Jefferson County Bar Association, and St. John’s United Church of Christ in downtown Madison. Mr. Bill Jenner authored a book about his father’s life in United States politics entitled "Senator William Ezra Jenner of Indiana, Remembered By His Son”; he thoroughly enjoyed his time researching and compiling this work. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends, cheering on the Washington Redskins, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Indiana University football team.
