He served his country as a member of the United State Air Force for 4 years, receiving the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Beloved husband of Maria F. Joseph Willis. Loving father of Lawrence Willis, III, Christopher Willis, Iona Willis Dupre, Patricia Willis Dennis, Martha R. Willis, Mary-Ann Willis Battle, Cynthia Willis Harris, Alton J. Willis, Tennille Willis Lange and Kenneth M. Willis. Son of the late Alberta Marth Ruth Helton Washington and Lawrence Willis. Stepson of the late Thaddeus Washington.
