Timothy Lewis, of Thief River Falls, MN, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the age of 60.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN, with Rev. Cathie Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, rural Thief River Falls.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service on Friday at Johnson Funeral Service.
Timothy Scott Lewis was born on August 28, 1959 in Thief River Falls, MN, the son of Daryl and LuAnn (Dyrdal) Lewis. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church and confirmed at Oak Ridge Lutheran Church, both in Thief River Falls. Tim attended grade school at Washington Elementary School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1977.
Following high school Tim attended Northland Community College in Thief River Falls and also worked at Holiday Station Stores. He finished his degree at Moorhead State University, earning a B.A. degree in Education, with a minor in coaching. For several years Tim managed Oak Manor in Fargo, ND. He also worked for Butler Machinery. In 1995 Tim moved back to Thief River Falls, working for Petro Pumper, Hardware Hank, Custom Products, Marshall County Central School, and Ace Hardware.
While Tim was working at Custom Products, he met the love of his life, Sheri Anderson. Tim and Sheri were married on June 18, 2016 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden, MN.
Tim loved football and baseball – especially the Vikings and the Minnesota Twins. In his younger years he was an avid hunter. Tim was an excellent cook and loved baking, especially cookies. He was always up for a good prank. Tim loved animals and always had a man’s best friend with him.
Tim is survived by his daughter, Chelsea Petron of Chicago, IL; brother, Todd (Darsey) Lewis of Winger, MN; uncles, David (Barbara) Dyrdal of Chisago City, MN, and Donovan (Anna) Dyrdal of Thief River Falls, MN; niece and nephew, Jessica Lewis of Winger, MN, and John (Nikki) Lewis of Gully, MN; former wife, Sheri Anderson of Newfolden, MN; and many cousins, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daryl and LuAnn Lewis; infant sister, Marilee Beth; grandparents, I.E. (Burt) and Edith B. Dyrdal and Warren and Vera Lewis; infant aunt, baby Edith Dyrdal; and cousin, Kristine (Kristi) Dyrdal.
