Mae is survived by her son, Nathan W. Dixon and wife, Mary of Centralia, Illinois; daughter, Anna Mae Robertson of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Jeff W. Robertson and wife, Kathy of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Lisa George and husband, Ronnie of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Jill Staley and husband, Shawn of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Bobbi Braddy and husband, James of Mount Vernon, Illinois, MaRita Osborne and husband, Dan of Streator, Illinois, Brent Dixon and wife, Annisa of Huntley, Illinois; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mae was preceded in death by her brothers, Sterling, Durward, Lester, and Ray Baltzell and son-in-law, Larry Robertson.
Mrs. Dixon worked at American Laundry and then Saint Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in the housekeeping department for twenty-three years retiring at the age of eighty. She was a long term member of the Calvary United Pentecostal Church. Mae loved being around people, visiting the sick, cooking for family members during the holidays, playing dominoes, and spreading joy, hugs, and smiles whenever she could. She was loved by all and will be missed greatly.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 P.M. with Brother Steve Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Wolf Prairie Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Calvary United Pentecostal Church.
