The family of the late François Agapit Amirault are saddened to announce our father's passing on November 11, 2019 in Veteran's Place, Yarmouth. He was formerly of Middle East Pubnico. Born in Middle East Pubnico he was a son of the late Thomas and Agnes (Amiro) Amirault. He is survived by his wife Rosaline, Nakile Home for Special Care, Argyle, daughters; Gwen (Kevin) Grant, Oakfield, NS, Marlene (Bobby) Smith and Kathy (Gilles) Bourque, both of Middle East Pubnico. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by brothers; Coral and Joseph and sisters; Bernadette and Mae. After completion of high school, he went fishing with his father, worked on the railroad and as a bellhop. At the age of 19 he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Airforce and trained as an air gunner. He was stationed in England at the end of the war. Upon his return home he spent most of his life as a fisherman and along with his wife, they operated Gwen's Diner in Middle East Pubnico. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 66, West Pubnico and the Knights of Columbus. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 13th, 2019 from 7-9pm in the West Pubnico Funeral Home, Middle West Pubnico. A Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday November 14th, 2019 at 11 am in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Middle East Pubnico. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to Immaculate Conception Cemetery Fund or the East Pubnico Fire Department. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the West Pubnico Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Middle West Pubnico. 902 762-3407

Dad was a peaceful, fun loving man. He enjoyed a good joke, a good game of crib, watching the Blue Jays play and his daily trip to the wharf. He will be missed dearly by his immediate and extended family and friends.
