Erdmann, Frederick H. Was led to Heaven by the angels to join his Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, March 15, 2010, two days after his 89th birthday. He was born in LaGrande, Oregon to William Frederick and Margaret Farley Erdmann who, in addition to his four brothers and his son, Stephen, preceded him in death. He had lived in Dallas, TX for the majority of the time since 1970. He is survived by the love of his life and best friend, Janet Clark Erdmann, three sons, Michael (Deanna), Lawrence, and Clark Erdmann; daughter, Judith Lange (Robert) seven grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; many relatives and friends. He joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in WWII and served in the European theatre of war; Navigator-bombardier in B-24 Liberator taken down by flak over Occupied Holland; a POW in Stalag Luft 1 from June 1944 until liberated in July 1945; awarded the Purple Heart and later recipient of Distinguished Flying Cross and 7 Oak Leaf Cluster. He returned to active duty in 1951 with U.S. Air Force, Korean War 2nd Air Division, 458th Bomb Group and honorably discharged with rank of Major. Mr. Erdmann was a member of Disabled American Veterans, Military Order of the Purple Heart and Ex-POWs. Services to be held in Shreveport, LA. Visitation and Vigil at 5:00 p.m., Friday, March 19th, at Rose-Neath South Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 20th, St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church. Military Burial to follow at Forest Park West Cemetary. Memorials in his name may be made to Disabled American Veterans, Ex-POWs or local VA Hospital.
