WHITE HALL — Marsha Lee Merritt Lloyd went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday evening November 18, 2019 at her home surrounded by family.
She was born on July 21, 1957 in Weston, WV to Eddie Lee and Betty Morgan Merritt.
She is survived by her loyal and loving husband of 41 years, Jim Lloyd. She is also survived by her mom, Betty; her one and only wonderful daughter, Kimberlee Jo Kelley and special son-in-law, (Adam Brent Kelley); also, a very special sister, Karen Merritt Diaz (Jack Michael Diaz); sister-in-law, Linda Jo Carter (Kevin Carter); a nephew, Andrew Carter and three beautiful and most loved grandchildren, Malachi James, Lyla Eden, and Micah Daniel Kelley.
Marsha was a graduate of Big Isaac Elementary, Doddridge High School, Fairmont State College and Salem University. She held a master’s degree in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction and was a National Board-Certified Teacher for one ten-year term. She spent her entire 35-year career at East Dale Elementary where she made many lifelong and cherished friends. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Salem, WV and has attended Trinity Assembly of God, Fairmont, WV since 1982. Her hobbies over the years have been horseback riding, biking, golf, reading, listening to music and flower gardening. Her favorite past time was spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren develop their talents in baseball, basketball and tumbling. She learned to love baseball watching her grandsons. Her favorite vacation spot was Ocean Isle, NC.
Marsha has donated her body to the Human Life Gift Registry at WVU. There will not be a traditional viewing; however there will be a Celebration of Life Service at Trinity Assembly of God on Saturday November 23, 2019 at 11 a.m. with pastors Wayde Wilson and Charles Fancher officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Early Childhood Ministries of Trinity, the Breast Cancer Support Group at Fairmont Regional or the Butterfly Kisses Support Group at UHC.
