We could write on and on about our amazing father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, just know that he was always the first one to say “I love you,” at the end of every phone call and at every goodbye. He adored his family and we adored him.

He is survived by us, his children, Kit (Tim) Busch of Frontenac, Kelly (Janney) Johnson of Red Wing, Scott Johnson of Red Wing, Tammy Rutkowski of Red Wing, DC (Michelle) Johnson of Hager City; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brother, Berkley (Dana) Johnson of Bradenton Beach, Florida and sister, Edna Wood of Bay City; as well as, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Colleen; one daughter, Kim Stensrud; one son, Lonnie Johnson; one son-in-law, Roger Rutkowski; his parents; two brothers and one sister.

A Celebration of Life will be 3-7 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the Leo C. Peterson American Legion, Post 54. A burial at Burnside Cemetery will be at a later date. Arrangements with the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
