Raymond Joe Butler, 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at the Dallas Medical Center in Farmers Branch, Texas. He was born on Wednesday, December 21, 1927 in Dallas, Texas.

He married Louise Jenkins on July 31, 1948 in Dallas, Texas. They were divorced May 19, 1955. He then married Geraldine Slovak Morelock on July 19, 1957, also in Dallas, Texas. They were divorced November 30, 1979.

Ray worked for Texas & Pacific Railway (20yrs), Republic National Bank(4yrs) & Wyeth Pharmaceuticals(17yrs).

He served in the U.S. Navy from October 20, 1945 to October 1, 1947. As a Radarman 3rd Class aboard the U.S.S. Bexar, he took part in the first Postwar Atomic Bomb Test at Bikini Atoll in the Pacific and transited the Panama Canal. He took his "boot camp" training at NTC San Diego, California.

Ray was survived by sons Steven Butler(wife Anita), Richardson, TX, Daryl Butler(wife Ginger), Farmers Branch, TX, Brandon Butler(wife Jossi), Farmers Branch, TX, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren & 3 step grandchildren.

He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson H.S., Dallas(1945), a 50-year Boy Scout, Cub Scout & Explorer Leader, active in the Presbyterian Church as Deacon, Elder & Stephen Ministries. In retirement, he loved to travel, dance, go to movies, and visit the Choctaw Casino in Oklahoma, and spend time with friends and family.

He will be greatly missed.

DNA test results have revealed that Raymond Joe Butler's biological father was Charles Wesley Miles, a next-door neighbor of his mother, Alice Tate Butler, and supposed father, Herman H. Butler.
