Larry Dale McDonald

Larry Dale McDonald, age 77, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019, at his residence.

Larry was born the son of Winie and Bertha Marie (Winslow) McDonald on March 8, 1942, in Wyeth, Missouri. He was a 1960 graduate of North Andrew High School. After graduation, he attended Northwest Missouri State University graduating in 1966 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology. He then attended the University of Missouri Kansas City, graduating in 1972. Larry was united in marriage to Ann Alyce McDonald on June 17, 1967, in Shenandoah, Iowa. She preceded him in death on November 18, 2019. He owned L.D. McDonald Dentistry from May of 1972 until 2009. Larry was a lifetime member of the NRA. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed hunting, especially deer and pheasant, and fishing in Canada. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, and was a season ticket holder since 1997.

Survivors include two sons, Sean McDonald and wife Amanda of Kansas City, Missouri, and Chris M. McDonald of Brooklyn, New York; one grandson, Ian J. McDonald of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother, Jimmie McDonald and wife Patsy of St. Joseph, Missouri; three sisters, Sherry Zimmerman of Raytown, Missouri, JoAnn Hayden of St. Louis, Missouri, and Thelma McAllister of Fort Worth, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann; three brothers, Bobbie Dean, Billie Wayne, and Richard Theodore McDonald; and two sisters, Mary Lou and Betty Jane.

Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, January 2, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at St. Columban Catholic Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest O. Triplett Animal Shelter and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
