Parkston - Fran Vogel, 88, went to her heavenly home Saturday, August 4 at Avera Bormann Manor in Parkston. Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 8 at 10:30 am at Salem Lutheran Church in Parkston. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 7 from 5 to 7 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Salem Lutheran Church in Parkston. Full obituary can be seen at www.koehnbrosfuneralhome.com. Adelheide Frances Vogel was born November 26, 1929 to Ludwig and Emma (Stoebner) Huether on the Stoebner family farm near Tripp, SD. She grew up on the farm and attended country school through the 8th grade. She was united in marriage to Rudy Vogel on January 26, 1951 in Tripp. Fran worked for 37 years as a C.N.A. at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston, SD and for several years at the Parkston Locker. She loved being a mother, grandmother, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, baking German foods and canning for her family. She also enjoyed playing cards, games and "DONimos" (Dominos) at her senior living apartment.

Grateful for having shared her life are her 4 children: Pam (Dann) Degen of Denver, CO; Glenn (Barb) Vogel of Sioux Falls, SD; Bruce (Barb) Vogel of Sioux Falls; and Connie (Rod) Goldammer of Ethan, SD; 10 grandchildren: Cory (Jen) Degen, Shanda (Chris) Trulove, Nathan (Tracie) Vogel, Lindsay (Casey) Fries, Josh Vogel, Justin (Melissa) Vogel, Jordan (Laken) Vogel, Eric (Sarah) Goldammer, Abbey (Cody) Erickson, and Izaak (Natasha) Goldammer; 17 great-grandchildren; and 3 siblings: Bernice Schoenfish of Menno, SD, Mel (Ardina) Huether of Tripp and Roger (Pinki) Huether of Tripp.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rudy; an infant daughter, Bonnie Jean Vogel; a great-grandchild, Kinsley; 2 brothers, Maynard and Mynard Huether; and a sister, Velda Holzwarth.
