Born Aug. 14, 1962, in Mobile, Ala., she had lived in Joplin since 1977. She received several bachelor's degrees from MSSU and was pursuing her master's in social work at Missouri State University, Springfield. She was a 35-year member of Faith Tabernacle in Joplin. She loved her pastor, Rev. Pat Yarbrough, and all of her friends.
Survivors include her mother, Dorothy Fry, of Joplin; father, Malcolm Thomas, of Ogden, Utah; sisters, Carol Thomas and Denise Womble, of Joplin; brother, Glenn Thomas, of Oxnard, Calif.; and nieces, Eden Womble, of Joplin, and Michelle and Melinda Thomas, both of Oxnard.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. Memorial visitation will be at the mortuary from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 18.
