Obituary for Mrs. Velma Willis
Velma Willis was born on July 3, 1942 to the union of Edna
Hargrove and John Willis in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was the
younger of their two children.
Velma received her formal education from the Milwaukee Public
School System; she graduated from North Division High School in
the early 1960's.
Velma was a devoted and hard working employee, she retired
from Franklin Pierce Elementary School after service to the
Milwaukee Public School System for more than 20 years.
In her leisure, Velma enjoyed watching television, Crocheting and
cooking; her homemade bisque will be missed. She loved spending
quality time with family and friends especially her only child
Bryant Willis I, he was her everything. She also shared a very
special bond with her nephew Anthony Walker Sr., whom she
raised. Velma was known, as "Little Momma" because she was a
small sassy woman full of life who acted liked everyone's momma.
Velma touched many lives; she was sassy and outspoken always
"telling it like it is". She was a caring energetic social butterfly who
was love and she will be dearly missed. She departed this life
Sunday, November 11, 2018. Velma was preceded in death by her
parents; Edna Hargrove and John Willis, brother; Warren
Hargrove and nephews; Warren Hargrove II and Steven Ashley
Hargrove.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory son; Bryant Willis I,
grandchildren; Bryant Willis II, Tasha and James Butler, Treveyon
Clark and Tayja Ewing, great grandchildren; Damon and Ares,
sister-in-law; Shirley Hargrove, nephew; Anthony Walker Sr.,
nieces; Leah Michelle Hargrove Smith and Stephanie Candice
Hargrove-Clemsons and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins
and friends.
