On the FindAGrave site for Lee Dean Crawford, you have him as the son of Luther and Lula (Grubbs)Crawford. Lee Dean was born in 1921, and Luther and Lula weren't married until 1923. Both Clinton and Lee Dean were the sons of C.E.Swift. In the 1930 census both Clinton and "Ludean" are enumerated as "Swift" and are designated as "Stepson".

In the 1940 census, they are named as "Crawford". I don't know if Luther adopted them or what, but apparently they used the name Crawford all their lives. Of course, Luther was the only father they ever really knew.

I have a problem with Clinton. In your FindAGrave site, you say he is the son of Charlie Swift and Lula Grubb. The date of birth for him is 27 Jul 1919, and the date of death is 28 Aug 1957. He is buried in Nixon Cemetery in Charleston, Franklin, Arkansas.

There is another "FindAGrave" site for Clinton E. Crawford, same dates of birth and death, but he is buried in Forest Park Cemetery in Ft. Smith. His wife's name was Vina Fay Blalack, and they were married 19 Mar 1943. There is a picture of this tombstone.

What sources do you have for the one in Nixon Cemetery?

I really enjoyed your history of the Parnell Cemetery. My sister insists it is still "Center Valley", and she was aware of Enoch Jones's donations, but probably not the ones made before he had possession of the land.

I don't think she has ever been to the new site. I have tried to get her to go with me, but she is reluctant. She was 17 years old when my dad died, and she was the one who nursed him as he was dying, along with taking care of me and my sister. I was not quite 7, and Jonnie was almost 6. I can't imagine how she coped. Also, she was just 13 when Mother died. I think about the most sensitive age to losing a parent.

I hope you can help with the Clinton question.
