Zumbrota -- Anna S. "Annie" Reding, age 98, of Zumbrota and formerly of Mazeppa, died on Thursday afternoon, May 1, 2003 at the Zumbrota Nursing Home. A Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, May 5, 2003 at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Mazeppa with Father Robert Meyer officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Anna Selma Tri was born on October 11, 1904 in Pine Island Township, Goodhue County, MN to Frank X. and Selma (nee Holmgren) Tri. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school. On February 8, 1928 she married Leo P. Reding in Mazeppa. They farmed in the Mazeppa, Bellechester and Zumbrota area before retiring in 1965. Leo died on October 31, 1989. Annie was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and enjoyed crocheting, gardening, baking and especially making her sugar cookies. Annie is survived by one son, Duane "Dewey" (Margaret) Reding of Mazeppa; two daughters, Betty Schafer of Mazeppa and Beverly (James) Poncelet of Mazeppa; fourteen grandchildren, thirty-two greatgrandchildren, twelve great great grandchildren. Her husband Leo, two grandchildren, Daniel & Patricia, one great grandson; son-in-law, Clarence Schafer; brothers, Frank, Fred, John, Andrew & George Tri and sisters, Mary Liffrig, Agnes Tri, and an infant sister preceded her in death. Casketbearers were Ron Gabrielson, Mike Horsman, Ron Horsman, Bob Poncelet, Terry Poncelet, Dale Schafer and Jim Strauss.
