Daughter of Cary and Lucille Bailey. She was a graduate of Washington-Wilkes High School. She graduated from Berry College, where she was a cheerleader and played basketball and where her classmates gave her the nick-name Beetle Bailey. She was married in August 1961 and returned to Berry College with her husband to finish his senior year. After graduation, she lived with her parents and in-laws until Dorsey returned from his basic and technical training. Moving to Milledgeville, GA, she worked at the Farmers and Merchants Bank. After Laurie and Mike were born, they moved to New England to relocate a JP Stevens Co. distribution plant to South Carolina, followed by work with Texfi industries in Greensboro NC, and an industrial consulting position with the Celanese and Phillips Fibers Corporation. When they moved to Atlanta, they purchased Instafoto Atlanta, which became her 2nd home where she had a gift of making children smile for their portraits, and was nicknamed "The Photo Lady." She served as treasurer in the North Metro Georgia Tech Club for several years. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church and helped in the Church's nursery. She is survived by her husband, Dorsey Watson (now deceased) and her two children, Laurie Bardar (Andy) and Mike Watson (Tiffany); grandchildren, Crystal Anderson, Taylor Bardar; great grandson Anthony Borchetta; siblings, Herbert Bailey, Winston Bailey and Karen Bailey Walton.
