STEVE BENJAMIN WARD, 75, of Crosby, formerly of Houston, passed away July 6, 2007. He was born March 3, 1932 in Blue Ridge, Texas to Steve A. & Mary Ethel Ward.
He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1948 - 1950. He worked for Dresser Industries for 30 years and operated Ward Drill Bit Company until retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved wife of 26 years, Betty L. Ward.
He is lovingly survived by children, Steve Ward & wife Melinda, Sherry McCain, Ben Ward, Virgil Ward & wife Lisa, and Deana Ward; Michael Nelson & wife Wanda; Pamela Nelson Dyer and Connie Nelson Huntley & husband Rick; sister & brother-in-law, Mary & Don Lawler; and brother & sister-in-law, Charlie & Frieda Ward, as well as by grandchildren, Beth Ash, Marcie Fredric, Dusty Ward, Casey Ward, Dani Ward, Michael Nelson, Jr., Joy Filkins & husband Arthur, Randy Dyer, Melanie McDonald & husband Mike, Ricky Huntley, Randy Huntley, and Amy Huntley; great-grandchildren, Bryant Nugent, Makenna Nugent, Rylie Kay Nugent, Ashley Filkins, Tyler Filkins, Kaitlyn Filkins, Mason Nelson, and Justin McDonald.
Services celebrating his life were held Monday, July 9, 2007, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Powell officiating. He was laid to rest in San Jacinto Memorial Park, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.
