Willard L. Snellen, 70, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Audubon Hospital. He was born Jan. 23, 1942, in Bullitt County, retired from American Fuji Seal, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and American Legion Post 121.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Beth Snellen; his parents, Manuel and Lillie Snellen.
Survivors include three sons, Jeff Snellen, Chris Snellen and John (Kara) Snellen all of Bardstown; one daughter, Kellie (Chris) Rogers of Bardstown; five grandchildren, Sydney Collins, Sydney Reiter, Tori Atilano, Addie Atilano and Brynlee Rogers; five brothers, Joe Satterly, Billy Snellen, John "Buck" Snellen, all of Bardstown, Timmy Snellen, of Botland, and Richard Snellen, of Bardstown; six sisters, Martha Reed and Bernice Sims, both of Samuels, Jean Valley, of Bardstown, Carolyn Schumacher, of Louisville, Darlene Holt, of Harrodsburg and Thelma Masterson, of Bardstownl and former wife, Jane Snellen of Bardstown.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. David Carr will officiate. Visitation is 2-8 Tuesday, Sept. 25, and 8-9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Barlow Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held Tuesday evening. Memorial contributions may go to the American Diabetes Association. Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
