WISE, VA – June B. Freeman, age 81, our Mother, was called home on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from Indian Path Hospital, Kingsport, TN. June was a hard working woman, managed a service station for many years, an amazing singer, but most of all she was the rock and backbone of our family. To say she will be missed would be understated and although this world seems empty now that she’s gone, the heavens feel full. We love you now and forever our dear mother, may your blessings forever reign.
June was a daughter of the late Doyle and Ola (Collier) Watts. In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Teresa Gale Freeman.
Surviving are sons; James Emory Freeman, Jr. and wife, Annette, Michael Steven Freeman and wife, Roxanne, Richard Allen Freeman and wife, Gwen, and Jeffrey Doyle Freeman; a daughter, Lora Lee Abate and husband Don; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild; a sister, Judy Egan and her husband, Jay; and a brother, Greg Watts and his wife, Joyce.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Joe Dearry officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 AM Sunday in Laurel Grove Cemetery.
