Charles “Gene” Eugene Maurer passed away on November 6, 2019 at the age of 85. He was born January 23, 1934 to the late Lewis Maurer and Lois Jackson Maurer. Charles was a veteran of United States Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Clark Maurer; step-son, Henry “Hank” Tolar; sister, Sarah Maurer Harrell and brother-in-law, Thomas Pierson.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years; one son; three step-sons; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home, 2900 Citizens Parkway, Selma, Alabama.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home, 2900 Citizens Parkway, Selma, Alabama with Rev. Travis Barnes officiating.
