JESSIE B. CARTER
Sunrise: October 28. 1922 - Sunset: November 3, 2019
On November 3,2019, Jessie B. Carter after 97 years and 5 days exited this earthly realm and entered his eternal peace after a long and prosperous life.
Jessie B. was an hard-working and honorable man who cared much for his family and the people he loved. He was a kind- hearted and jovial spirit who always treated everyone with kindness and respect. He enjoyed fishing, shooting pool and socializing with friends.
Jessie B. was born to Jessie B. Sr., and Willie Mae Carter on October 28,1922 in the rural south near the outskirts of Morgan City Mississippi. He attended the Itta Bena School System followed by a brief stent in the Army before relocating to Kankakee, Illinois in 1944.
Jessie entered the work force as a laborer and became a crane operator, later moving to Maywood, Illinois before retiring from Navistar in 1983.
Jessie B. accepted Christ at an early age having served at Morning Star (Kankakee) and later Canaan Baptist Church in Milwaukee. J essie was united in marriage to his first wife and to their union a daughter, Lilly Bee and a son Isiah, was born. From his second union two sons, Willie Lee and Jessie Michael (Jr.) and one daughter Ethera Carter was born. In
1972, Jessie B. met his soulmate and lifelong companion Hazel Thadison to whom he remained faithful and Together for nearly 40 years until Hazel's passing in 2011. To this union he shared and step- fathered seven children.
Jessie B. was preceded in death by his beloved Hazel, his parents Jessie B. and Willie Mae Carter; children; Jessie Michael and Ehtera Carter, brother; William "Doug" Carter, sisters, Sallie Collins, Arlea Nash, and Lilly Bee Dallas and step-children; Ronald Thadison and Victor Thadison.
He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted step-son; P.T. Thadison (Darlene) of Milwaukee, WI. Sons; Willie Lee Carter (Sarah) of Chicago IL, Isiah Carter (Betty) and daughter Lilly Bee McAfee of Morgan City, MS. Sisters; Rhoda Steele of Milwaukee WI, Louise Bell of
Chicago, IL and Willie West of New York. Jessie is also survived by his Granddaughter; Jenevia Blanks and niece; Irene Hall of Milwaukee, WI. Step-Children; Cynthia Williams, Michael Thadison (Diane), Phyllis Thadison of Milwaukee, WI., and Barbara Mosley (Tillman) of Dayton, OH. He also leaves approximately 40 Grand and Step-Grandchildren and over 30 Great and Step-Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
