Two teenage brothers from San Jacinto died in a weekend off-road vehicle crash in the desert west of Blythe in Riverside County. Javier Castillo,13, and Eliseo Castillo, 14, died when a 2015 Polaris RZR all-terrain vehicle driven by a 13-year-old girl with the brothers and another passenger on board rolled onto its right side as the girl tried to make a left turn. The brothers, who were sitting on top of the right-rear door panel with their backs facing to the outside of the vehicle and were not wearing seat belts, were ejected and the RZR rolled on top of them. The 13-year-old girl, also from San Jacinto, and the other passenger, a 9-year-old girl from Blythe, were both wearing seat belts and hospitalized with moderate injuries.
