Avon Deakle Longo 1936 - 2019 Obituary

Avon Deakle Longo, age 83, long time resident of Destin, passed away on November 3, 2019, Avon was born on October 26, 1936 and was the daughter of Jesse and Leola Deakle of Bayou La Batre, AL. She moved to Destin in 1963 with her husband Vince, who was the Inn Keeper of the original Holiday Inn on Highway 98. Avon was active in her church. She was a realtor in the Destin area for 34 years. She was preceded in death by her sister Ramona Massengale and her brother Evan Deakle. Loving mother to Kent (Tina) Longo, Kim (David) Stephens, Belinda (Donnie) Bishop, Tyrone (Rena) Longo and Lou and (Erin) Longo. She was known to Mim to 11 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Destin Assembly of God, 726 Legion Drive at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, November 29, 2019. The family will receive guest starting at 5:00 P.M. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at First Baptist Church of Bayou La Batre , AL on Saturday, November 30, at 11:00 A.M. with interment following at Odd Fellow Cemetery. The family requesting in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Vision 726 Fund at Destin Assembly of God, 726 Legion Drive, Destin, FL 32541.
