The family will welcome friends at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home on Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 10:00 a.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Lee McDonald was born on Sept. 27, 1950 in McAlester to Jimmie D. and Juanita Jewell (Crumbley) McDonald. He grew up here and graduated from McAlester High School in 1968. Gary worked for many years in the loan business, operating his own loan company and then working as manager for other loan companies. Gary was a member of the Elks Lodge and was a long-time member of Victory Park Baptist Church. Gary enjoyed lots of activities, working out, playing golf, and others, but his real love was spending time with his grandchildren and going to all of their activities. If he was able, he never missed an event in which they were involved.

Gary is survived by his wife, Gayle McDonald of the home; 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Brandy and Richard Bedford and Kristy Cusher, all of McAlester; grandsons, Garyn Watkins, Gaige Watkins, Garrison Watkins and Kaiden Cusher, all of McAlester; a special family member, Rusty Matli of Fairview; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Ann McDonald of Claremore and Kenny and Gwen McDonald of Panola; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie D. and Juanita McDonald and a brother, Jerry Don McDonald.
