Services for Cynthia Ann (White) Martin, 62, Longview, will be at 11:00 am Friday, November 15th at New Beginnings Baptist Church with Pastor Todd Kaunitz officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery under direction of Welch Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation in the Garden Court of Welch Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on the 14th of November, 2019.
Cindy was born February 24, 1957 to Charles Edmond White and Ima Kathryn White in Oklahoma City. Her adolescent years were spent in Oklahoma and later the family moved to the outskirts of Houston. She graduated from Dobie High School in 1975 and then she married her high school sweetheart, Randy Martin of Conroe, Texas on July 5th of that same year.
Cindy attended Sam Houston State University and earned her Bachelors of Education. She and Randy moved to Waco in order to continue her education at Baylor University where she later graduated with her Masters of Science and Education. Randy and Cindy moved to Longview in 1982 and started their family which eventually led to three children. Cindy went on to lead a successful career as a teacher and drill team instructor for both Hallsville ISD and Pine Tree ISD. After returning to school to gain her counselor certification, she finished her career in education as a high-school counselor at PTISD and retired in 2019.
Cindy enjoyed many things in this life including traveling with her beloved husband, spending time with her family at the lake or beach, and enjoying outings with her grandkids. She continually radiated joy in all phases of her life and she will be remembered for her contagious smile and joyous spirit that could only be fueled by her love for Jesus.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 44 years Randy Martin, parents Charles and Kathryn White, children Cody and wife Cady Martin, Whitney and husband Eric Slack, and Robby and wife Blythe Martin. She is also survived by her brother Chuck and wife Terri, and her beloved grandchildren: Hunter and Sawyer Martin; Caroline and Luke Slack, nieces: Marissa Brooks, Katie Medlin, and Madison White, nephew: Matt Martin, and brother-in-law Danny Martin. All will miss her tremendously.
