Mrs. Peggy Lavon Freeman, age 83 of Montgomery, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2019.

Born Tuesday, December 24, 1935 in San Bernardino, California , she was preceded in death by her parents, Flora Ford Prather and Carl Prather; and siblings, James E. Prather, Inez Stewart, Don Prather, Bill Prather, and Paul Prather.

Mrs. Freeman loved to cook big dinners for her family and was an avid NASCAR fan.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 68 years, James C. "Gabby" Freeman, Sr., daughter, Irene Lohman; daughter, Nola Freeman; son, James C. "Chicken Man" Freeman, Jr. (Jayme); daughter, Mary F. McManus (Ty); brother, Jerry Prather (Darlene); 7 Grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, and 9 great great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 18, 2019, at Northside Baptist Church, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and again on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at Northside Baptist Church, from 1:00 PM until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Tilton and Rev. Robert Davidson officiating. Interment will follow in Montgomery Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Patrick Lohman, Michael Paige, Kyler Lohman, Ashton Randall, Hunter Despino, Bert Lavespere, Chad Stephens, Luke Tyler, and Chris Lee.
