Joan E. Groff age 58, died Monday, June 1, 2009 at her home.

Mrs. Groff was born in Hershey, PA, a daughter of Ethel Hipple and the late Marlin Hipple.

She was a former employee of Belk and Ryans. She always enjoyed going to the beach. She was an excellent wife, mother, grandmother and good friend to all.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Michael Hipple.

In addition to her mother,
survivors include her husband, George Groff, II of Murrells Inlet;
a son, George Groff and his wife Marci of Myrtle Beach;
a daughter, Chrystal Visconti and her husband Tony of Charleston;
two grandchildren, Jordan Jae Groff of Myrtle Beach and Anthony Visconti of Charleston;
one sister, Carol Weaver and husband Carl of PA.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday, June 4, 2009 with a prayer service at 6:30 P.M. with Pastor Tim Kirkendall officiating at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
