Elmer Dave Martin, 78, died suddenly at his home in Johnson on Saturday. He was a retired farmer and rancher. Born September 4, 1901 at Heizer, Kansas. He married Ethel Mae Windmill on Oct 20, 1923 at Larned.
He was a member of the Brethren Church at Larned; past president of the Rotary Club and former board member of the grade school of Johnson City.
Survivors: Ethel, of the home; sons, Gene, Hutchinson; Bob and Bud, both Johnson City; Larry, Manter; daughters, Dorothy Shull, Littleton, Colorado. and Janice Martin, Denver; bothers, Ellis Martin, Waterford, California; Ora Martin, Ulysses; and Harry Bernard Martin, Bella Vista, Arkansas; sisters, Esther Cline, Waterford, California; Marjorie Cline, Farmington, New Mexico; Pearl Adams, Fulton, Missouri; and Rachel Carter, Las Vegas, Nevada; 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in the United Methodist Church at Johnson City, the Revs. Thomas Schneider and Paul Wilson officiating.
Burial will be in the Johnson City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made the the Stanton County Hospital.
