On January 14, 2018, Elaine Yvonne Simmons departed from this world and into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Elaine loved her family, singing, and had such a giving heart.

Elaine had the opportunity to sing in several groups which include Voices of Inner Peace with Glenn Johnson, CLC Choir with Mark Cosey, The Chosen Ones with James Sisson, Gwen Wright and The Anointing, Christian Valley Voices, and more. Elaine lived a full life and she put her all into everything that she did.
Elaine graduated from North Chicago High School in 1966 and went on to work for Abbott Laboratories where she later retired. Elaine joined Christian Valley Baptist Church at an early age where she served with the choir.

Elaine is survived by her loving and precious mother Mrs. Juanita Holley, her loving son Trenton Simmons (Juamona Simmons) her beautiful grand-daughters Aniyah and Alexia Simmons. She also leaves to cherish her brother Bruce Holley (Beverly Holley) and sister Joyce Washington (Johnny Washington) and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Elaine was preceded in death by her father Mr. Jack Holley, sister Laura Etta (Earl) Harris, four brothers; Jack Robert Holley, Sterling Holley, Wayne Holley Greg Holley and her only daughter Sheree Simmons.

A Celebration of Her Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Christian Valley Missionary Baptist Church, 2690 Argonne Drive, North Chicago, IL. Pastor Henry Woods, Sr., Officiating. Interment will be at North Shore Garden of Memories, North Chicago, IL. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M.
