Rev. James Ivy Privett, Sr., age 85, of Cedartown, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. He was born on January 17, 1927 in Cedartown. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom and Birdie Norris Privett.

Mr. Privett was a United States Army veteran and a member of Youngs Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. Privett is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruby Duncan and brother, Charlie Privett.

The funeral arrangements for Mr. Privett will be conducted on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at four o'clock in the afternoon at Youngs Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Barry McCullough and Rev. Roger Parris officiating. The music will be provided by Mrs. Valarie Davis. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral hour.

Interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church cemetery.

The family of Mr. Privett will receive family and friends on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from six o'clock in the evening to nine o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Mr. Privett's grandsons will serve as pallbearers; Shane Privett, Rodney Tidwell, Casey Frady, Chad Floyd, Shannon Privett and Kye Watson.
