Billy Wells Holt, of Granbury, Texas, passed away Dec. 7, 2018 after a brief illness.

Born in 1927 in Saginaw, Texas, Bill grew up in Fort Worth and graduated from Polytechnic High School. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a WWII veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy as a seaman first class from 1944 – 1946. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service from 1948 – 1982 and retired as postmaster in DeSoto, Texas. He also owned and operated Irving Window Cleaning Company for 25 years.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Granbury, serving as an elder from 1982 – 1988, and a member of the Indian Harbor Volunteer Fire Department.

After retiring, Bill and Dee traveled extensively with the Escapees RV Club. This was truly a special time in their lives and he enjoyed sharing stories of their many adventures.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dee Holt, daughters Jan Massengale (Marlin), Jimmie Young (Mansel), Becca Burgin, Rebecca Hertz and Tami McConnell (James), 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Lee Juett and Lorene Holt, sister, Jennie Lou Calcagno, brother, Charles Holt, granddaughter, Christi Norton, great-grandson, Callum Dodson, and son-in-law, Danny Burgin.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Granbury on
Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m.
