Mr. Charlie Isaac Miles, 91, of Crossett died Saturday, May 15, 1999, at his home. He was born December 19, 1907, to Tarelton and Ella Mae Dunlap Miles in Magnolia and retired in 1972 as an electrician for Georgia-Pacific. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Crossett, and he was a member of the American Bowling Congress and the Arkansas Bowling Hall of Fame. At age 75, he bowled a 300 game which placed him in the top two percent of bowlers in the United States for his age. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Miles of Crossett; a son, Bill Miles of Little Rock; two daughters, Bonnie Bailey of Crossett and Frances McGough of West Monroe, LA; a brother, John Hoover Miles of Crossett; four grandchildren, RICK PHILPOT, Debra Kouri, Jeffery Johnson and Jennifer Bernard; 15 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, in the First Baptist Church of Crossett with Dr. David Newberry and Shawn Bernard officiating. Pallbearers were Jeffrey Johnson, Dwight Kouri, Ernest Boseman, J. B. Boseman, Randall Miles, Eugene Miles, L. A. Collins and Richard Philpot. Honorary pallbearers were the church's deacons and members of the Deal Bowling Club. Burial followed services at Pinewood Memorial Park, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
