Melvin “Tucker" Rollins, 83, Leon, WV, passed away November 16, 2019, at his home.

He was born January 9, 1936 in Leon, the son of the late Eunice and Florence Izetta (Mattox) Rollins. He was also preceded in death by his son, Timothy Rollins; daughter, Melissa Taylor; grandson, Karl Jordan; brothers, Oshel Rollins, Okey Rollins, James Harvey Rollins and Henry Rollins and a sister, Frances Jean Durst.

Tucker was a retired operator from Foote Mineral with 30 years of service. He had been a member of Rollins Family Gospel group for 47 years and most recently was the guitar player for his great grandchildren, Kaydn Stone, Riley Springston and Franky Wilson and their gospel group, Cousins For Christ. He was an avid bible scholar, collected guitars and enjoyed fishing. He attended the Harvey Chapel Church, Leon, and attended and ministered through his music a host of other churches as well.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Shelvia Jane (McCartney) Rollins; daughter, Angela Taylor (Eric) and Izetta McDade (Marvin); brother, Eunice Rollins; sister, Dottie Weaver; grandchildren, Jennifer Wilson (John), Matthew Durst (Sarah), Charley Taylor (Brooke), Kevin Taylor, Erica Higginbotham (Tristan), Peggy Rollins, Timothy Rollins, Jr., James Jordan (Erica), Karissa Taylor and and Dristen Taylor; great grandchildren, Franky Wilson, Hailee Wilson, Kaydn Stone, Lierty Durst, Rocky Taylor, Riley Springston, Jase Higginbotham, Nilynn Rollins, Cash Rollins, Cassidy Rollins, Brayden Jordan, Briar Jordan, Izzibella Casto and Kolten Elmore.

Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2019, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with Pastor Ivan “Pete” Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery, Leon. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
