Funeral services for Mr. Steve Green will be held 3:00 PM Saturday September 30, 2017 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Jena with Rev. Byron Norris officiating. Interment will follow in the Belah Cemetery with a masonic graveside under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Jena. The family request that visitation be Friday, September 29, 2017 from 3pm until 9pm at Hixson Brothers in Jena, La.
Mr. Green , 77, of Jena was born on May 11, 1940 in Bernice, La. and passed from this life on September 28, 2017 at LaSalle Nursing Home in Jena.
Mr. Green was a heavy equipment operator in the oilfield. He rode in rodeo's and enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Deborah Aycock and husband, Carl of Urania, Rhonda Childers and husband David of Pineville, Renee' Brown and husband, Robert of Dry Prong, Paula Shackleford and husband, Greg and Kimberly Masters from Clifton, and foster child, Anya K. Holloway; sisters, Ann Paul of Belah and Jane Paul of Mt.Sinai.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Olive Green; parents, Thomas Emmett and Lillian LaCroix Green; son, Charles Butler Green; brothers, Clyde Green, Whit Green and Larry Bud Green; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Harold (Red) Carter, Sr., Cullen Paul, Shaun Carter, Kevin Paul, Cheston Paul and Adam Walters.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Joey Crawford, Kamryn Roland, Jason Hawthorne, Dylan Shackleford, James Masters, Tristen Shackleford and Coby Taylor.
