Sidney Nay Allen, age 84, residing in Nashville, TN, overcame his battle with Parkinson's and went to be with the Lord on March 24, 2018. Sid was born in Lubbock, Texas on November 17th, 1933 to Oren Hollis and Elsie Story Allen. His growing up years were spent in Texas with his parents and older brother, Oren Hollis Allen, Jr. He graduated from Texas A&M with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in May of 1958 and then was commissioned in the Air Force in the Veterinary Corp.

Sid married Jenetta Chesshir on August 12, 1960 at Acuff Chapel at Lipscomb University campus. He went on to have a rich and varied career as a veterinarian, a missionary to South Korea, an officer in the Air Force and Army (five years active duty and thirty years reserves), a college professor at Pepperdine University and Korea Christian College, an elder in the Churches of Christ, the co-founder of Rapha International - a humanitarian organization, and a scout leader.

He will be remembered most by his family as a godly man and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Many will remember Sid for his part in the "Cows for Korea" project in 1963 when he and his father-in-law, Haskell L. Chesshir received 91 donated bred Holstein heifers. Sid then escorted the cows to Korea in efforts to help a country devastated by war and aid the Korean government's plan for developing the dairy industry.

Sid leaves behind his beloved wife, Jenetta, and children, Laura Allen, David and Michelle Dortch Allen, Steve and Samantha White Allen, and eight grandchildren.
