He was born in Grayson County on November 11, 1944, to the late Gwyn W. and Etta York Lundy.
Mr. Lundy was retired from Currier-Withers Supply Company.
Mr. Lundy served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Kevin Draughn of Lowgap; a granddaughter, Zoe Draughn; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Sam Hodges of Mt. Airy; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill and Georgia Lundy of Mt. Airy, Kyle and Debbie Lundy of Flint, MI; several nieces and nephews; special friends: Margaret Cockerham and Brandon Wilmoth.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lundy was preceded in death by a niece, Kim Reynolds.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 30, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Spurlin and Rev. Tony Holder officiating. Burial will follow in the Lundy Family Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Army National Guard.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
