Brian was baptized on April 27, 1947 and made his vows of confirmation on March 26, 1961. In 1965, he graduated from Shaler High School in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania. In 1969, Brian earned his Undergraduate Degree in Electrical Engineering at Grove City College. In 1972, he earned his Master's Degree at the University of Pittsburgh.
Brian worked as an Electrical Engineer for Rosemount Corp in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
He met Janet M Ellingson at a Koinonian Singles Group from Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis while at a bowling event. They were married on June 17, 1978 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hopkins, MN by Janet's brother - Pastor Wayne Ellingson.
Brian and Janet helped found the Ministry of Bethesda Thrift Shop in Hopkins, MN and served it for 25 years. He joined Zion Lutheran Church on August 10, 1977. At Zion, Brian was a member of the Board of Elders, Board of Trustees, Braille Center, and projection sound/ slide technician for the Saturday nights' worship service.
Brian enjoyed playing golf, target shooting, fixing electrical items, and watching cowboy shows.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janet; brother Dwight (Cynthia) of Brackenridge, PA; mother-in-law Thelma Ellingson of Decorah, IA; sisters-in-law Elaine(John) Hafertepe of Richfield, MN, Ruth(Leon) Kosek of Bloomington, MN, Mary(Jeffrey) Ott of Rockford, IA; brothers-in-law Wayne(Irmgard) Ellingson and Robert(Jan), all of Decorah, IA; nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, and many loving relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents Walter and Virginia Olson, and his father-in-law Erven Ellingson.
