Naomi Ruth Mitchell, 93, of Columbus passed from this life on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 12:58 p.m. at her home.
Naomi was born on October 24, 1926 in Elk Horne, Kentucky the daughter of Tyler and Laura D. Sluder Mings. On June 24, 1950 she married Henry S. Mitchell.
Mrs. Mitchell loved spending time with her family and was instrumental in helping raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Terry Mitchell, Randall Mitchell, and Sharon Mitchell Richards all of Columbus; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sisters, Barbara Green and Juanita Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry S. Mitchell on January 24, 1996; and siblings, Walter, Edgar, and Elizabeth.
Family and friends may gather for visitation on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street.
Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
